Selecting an Advisor/Appraiser
|
Select your appraiser much as you would a doctor, lawyer or any other professional and enquire about clientele. Every qualified appraiser will be happy to supply such information, having worked hard to develop a reputation for competence in the appraisal field.
You can recognize a qualified appraiser by the designations AACI or CRA, which are awarded by the Appraisal Institute of Canada.
AACI, P. App
Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute: the person holding this designation is qualified to perform appraisals on a wide range of real property.
CRA
Canadian Residential Appraiser: the person holding this designation is qualified in the appraisal of and valuation of individual undeveloped residential dwelling sites and dwellings containing not more than four self-contained family housing units.
